How do we market the tools we've built and help teams get the most out of them?
In early 2021, our team was without a single marketer. I've always been interested in marketing design and decided to take on the challenge. The switch from product design to lead our marketing efforts has been a fun change of pace, and we've made significant progress in showcasing our offerings and elevating the company brand.
From designing emails to writing blogs to filming & editing videos, I've done a little bit of everything this year. Some of my favorite marketing work so far:
Revamping the website — In May, we launched an updated company website that featured expanded product info and a fresh design. I designed every page, built all of the templates in Hubspot CMS, and coordinated the writing of content
Launching the Playbook — In March, we launched a new educational tool called the Playbook, which is a collection of ideas and tutorials so clients can get the most out of our products. I created much of the content and built the pages in Hubspot CMS so teammates can easily update without code
Reviving the blog — In October, I redesigned our blog using custom-built templates and started publishing new content, including fan engagement tips, press releases, and product info
Video Filming & Editing — We've created several videos this year for product releases, social media, and just for fun:
Monthly Inspo — At the beginning of each month, I send an "App Inspo" email of the best content from our clients across the industry. It's a great way for our partners to see what others are doing and get ideas for their own fan engagement. The email is frequently forwarded among client teams and averaged a 44% open rate in 2021
Marketing collateral — Working with our sales team, I've created decks, PDFs, and print collateral for prospective clients
Social — We've gained hundreds of followers on social media this year as a result of fresh, consistent content
Welcoming new teammates — When a new associate joins, I meet with them and share a presentation about who we are, what we do, and the history of the company
Representing the company in public — As a guest speaker to college sports marketing courses, I speak about our company, what we do, and how to engage sports fans
